When Nanny's magic license goes out of date, she must pass the Wise Old Elf's test in order to get a new one.

This episode reveals that there is a law in the Little Kingdom that a fairy cannot do magic without her license.
When Nanny Plum tries to think of the answer to the question, "How would you help a tadpole become a grown-up?" her wand can be seen mouthing the word "frog".

When the big rock crashes into the Great Elf Tree, the window was not opened when Mr. Elf appeared out of it.
